Women’s Health tackled the common ailments causing us to lose sleep at night, including nighttime acid reflux, in a recent feature story in print and online. MedCline bringing relief to those with Parkinson’s Disease suffering with GERD.
October 2017 – Acid reflux symptoms are experienced in up to 80% of those with Parkinson’s Disease (PD), which can be induced by dyscoordination of various organs such as the mouth, pharynx, and esophagus. PD can also cause esophageal peristalsis and dysfunction in the lower esophageal sphincter. Treating the symptoms of acid reflux can significantly increase the quality of life of Parkinson’s patients so should be part of the treatment regime for such patients. Dr. Scott Gabbard from Cleveland Clinic spoke with the Dr. Oz experts about natural GERD remedies, including studies with reflux sleep system.
